Day 01 - Arrive Chennai

Arrive Chennai. Full day tour of Mahabalipuram and Kanchipuram. The former was the main port of Pallava dynasty & has exquisite rock-cut monuments, monolithic structures and bas-reliefs. It is also a beach resort. Kanchipuram is famed for it's hand - woven cottons and Kanjivaram silk. Evening transfer to railway station for Trichy night train. Overnight on board.

Day - 02 - Chennai to Trichy

Full day tour of Mahabalipuram and Kanchipuram. The former was the main port of Pallava dynasty & has exquisite rock-cut monuments, monolithic structures and bas-reliefs. It is also a beach resort. Kanchipuram, the golden city was one of the seven sacred cities of India and once had 1000 temples. It is also famed for its hand - woven cottons and Kanjivaram silk. Evening transfer to railway station for Trichy night train. Overnight on board.

Day - 03 - Trichy to Madurai

Morning drive to Madurai enroute visiting the famous 9th century Chola Temple Brihadeshwara at Tanjore. Check in at hotel.

Day - 04 - Madurai

Morning half-day sightseeing tour. Visit the great Meenakshi Temple dedicated to the consort of Lord Shiva with its towering Gopurams (rising high above the surrounding country side). Later visit the Tirumala Nayak Palace - a gracious building in the Indo Sarcenic style, famous for the stuccowork on its domes and arches. Afternoon free. Overnight at the hotel.

Day - 05 - Madurai to Periyar

Morning drive to Periyar National Park. Overnight in Periyar.

Day - 06 - Periyar to Cochin

Morning drive to Cochin. Check in at hotel. Overnight in Hotel

Day - 07 - Cochin

Morning half day tour to visit the Dutch Palace, Jewish Synagogue, Chinese fishing nets, & St. Francis Church. Afternoon free. Overnight in Hotel.

Day - 08 - Cochin to Bangalore

Morning transfer to airport for Bangalore flight. Check in at hotel. Overnight in Hotel.

Day - 09 - Bangalore

Morning full day excursion of Belur and Halebid. The Chenna Kesava Temple of Belur built 900 years ago is an exquisite example of Hoysala art. Halebid's 12th century Hoysaleswara and Kedareswara temple are masterpieces of Hindu art. Overnight in Bangalore.

Day - 10 - Bangalore to Mysore

Today morning drive to Mysore. On arrival check in into hotel. Later city tour. Overnight hotel.

Day - 11 - Mysore to Chennai

Transfer to railway station for train to Chennai. Arrive & transfer to hotel. Overnight in Chennai.

Day - 12 - Chennai departure
